As one of just six original reporter-hosts for the online, member-driven news service launched by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and Rocky Mountain News publisher-editor John Temple, I have covered land use, environmental news and Hawaii politics.

Though primarily a watchdog reporter on the local government and politics beat, I also covered legal cases and crime, environment, breaking news and emergencies for Kauai’s only daily newspaper. I created the website’s “Sunshine on Kauai” project by initiating Freedom of Information Act requests for government documents. Additionally, I edited the full newspaper two days each week.
